Horst's work is all about precision and intention. Every element has a purpose. "My creative process combines precise camera work, controlled lighting, and refined digital post-production to transform ordinary subjects into strong, visually balanced compositions," he explains. This methodical approach allows him to elevate simple subjects into powerful visual statements. His post-production workflow centers on Adobe Photoshop and other programs from Adobe Creative Cloud, ensuring he has comprehensive editing capabilities. Embracing the intersection of traditional and emerging technologies, Horst also utilizes Midjourney for AI image generation, expanding his creative possibilities beyond conventional photography.
AI in the Creative Process
Horst feels that AI has opened up exciting new creative territory. "AI has become an integral part of my creative process, helping me refine images and expand artistic possibilities," he shares. "I use it for tasks like denoising in DxO PureRAW and for creating artistic composites that would be nearly impossible without AI tools." Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for traditional skills, Horst sees it as a powerful addition to his toolkit that enables him to push creative boundaries and achieve results that would be technically challenging or impossible through conventional methods alone.
