Overview
We're seeking freelance filmmakers to contribute to our Vertical Video project. The goal is to collect short-form videos with a fun, engaging storyline and audio that hooks viewers. Main categories:
UGC: Creator-centered, selfie-style vlog content capturing authentic moments like day-in-the-life or routine videos, filmed handheld on a high-quality smartphone with natural lighting, no filters or stabilization, and simply edited on the phone using basic cuts and occasional narration.
Multi-cut clips with a hook: Story-driven phone-shot videos featuring an engaging hook, dialogue or narration, varied focal lengths and camera angles, where the person filming is an active participant, often narrating in real-time.
Found Footage: This category includes Doorbell and Security/CCTV footage, using a static, wide-angle or fisheye camera perspective. It captures private or unexpected moments at the door, creating humor through surreal or unexpected events.
Sports and competitions, fail videos: Content includes unconventional or humorous sports-style videos, such as locker-room interviews, quirky stunts, or absurd competitions.
POV: This category includes GoPro, Driver POV, and Insta360 videos, placing the viewer directly in the subject’s perspective. It often features immersive, action-driven footage, frequently involving extreme sports.
Animals, cute & heart-warming: Emotionally positive, endearing content that feels authentic and phone-shot, often featuring pets being cute, sleepy, gently playful, or harmlessly clumsy, with casual commentary reacting to their behavior.
Retro/Analog aesthetics: This category features story-driven content with a nostalgic VHS vibe, evoking home movies, parties, or 80s/90s lifestyle moments, and intentionally uses a lo-fi aesthetic with grainy footage, muted colors, and VHS artifacts.
What You’ll Do
Produce a 20-60 second, vertical video clip, with audio and/or sound effects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in short-form social media video production and editing.
Expertise shooting with phones, GoPro, Insta360 and/or wide angle/fisheye cameras.
